Entertainment News Karur stampede: Police file cases against 25 people for ‘misleading’ posts

Cases have been registered against 25 individuals in Tamil Nadu for social media posts related to the Karur tragedy. The police stated the reason for this action was to prevent the disruption of peace. This follows a video statement from Chief Minister Stalin who urged people “to avoid spreading misinformation, urged people to avoid spreading fake news on the Karur stampede.” The government’s view is that such online activity can create further panic. However, the report also addresses the question of whether these individuals were booked for posting narratives that were not favorable to the government. The identities of the 25 people who face action are yet to be disclosed as more details on the matter are awaited.
