Delhi Police on Wednesday intensified its probe into the molestation case involving self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati, recovering objectionable material during a search of the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management (SRISIIM) campus in Delhi, where he was the director. The search was carried out in the presence of the accused, also known as Swamy Parthasarathy.
According to police officials, the team recovered a sex toy, five CDs purportedly containing pornographic content, and three forged photographs.
The forged photos were purportedly morphed to show Saraswati with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former US President Barack Obama, and former UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
Investigators said the forged photographs indicated attempts by the accused to build a false image of influence and proximity to world leaders.
Delhi Police have also recovered a BMW car with a VIP number plate linked to Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati.
The FIR alleged he used the luxury vehicle to lure young women, inviting them for rides before molesting them inside.
The police also traced locations where the accused had stayed while absconding, including Bageshwar and Almora in Uttarakhand, to corroborate details of his movements during that period.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police sources said more revelations are expected as evidence is examined.
The recovery of forged photographs and pornographic material has strengthened suspicions that Chaitanyanand may have used fake identities and fabricated images to deceive followers and associates.
Officials said forensic examination of the CDs and digital devices is underway to determine their content and origin.
The investigation will also look into whether these items were used to blackmail or manipulate victims.
The latest recovery adds to the disturbing details emerging in the case.
Earlier, India Today accessed sleazy chat messages between Chaitanyanand and women students, which exposed his pattern of harassment.
In these messages, he allegedly made sexual demands, used explicit language, and even referred to foreign contacts, including a Dubai-based sheikh.
The chats suggested potential links to trafficking, raising further alarm over the extent of his activities.
The sexual harassment case first came to light after 17 female students of SRISIIM accused Chaitanyanand of inappropriate behaviour.
Complaints included sending obscene messages, unwelcome physical advances, and persistent harassment.
The allegations triggered a wider investigation, leading to his arrest from a hotel in Agra after he evaded arrest for several days.
Following his detention, Delhi Police sought his custodial interrogation to probe not only the allegations of harassment but also suspected financial irregularities and misuse of the institute’s premises.
The case has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for stricter monitoring of self-styled godmen who exploit religious and spiritual platforms for personal gain.
Delhi Police have assured that all angles, including possible links to trafficking and forgery, will be thoroughly investigated.
