Entertainment News ‘I Love Muhammad’ clashes: Bareilly unrest, internet shut after cleric’s arrest over violence

The situation in Bareilly remains tense after a protest following Friday prayers turned violent, leading to the arrest of IMC Chief Maulana Tauqi Raza Khan. Protesters gathered outside the Allah Hazrat Dargah and Khan’s house, engaging in stone-pelting and vandalism despite assurances of a peaceful gathering. In response, Bareilly police, along with paramilitary forces, conducted a flag march to maintain law and order. Authorities have taken significant action, booking more than 2,000 people and lodging 10 FIRs. The heavy police deployment is being monitored at the highest levels, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directing that “strict action and the method giving action should be taken against all those who have broke the law.” Security has been heightened across the city and internet has been suspended to prevent any further untoward incidents.
