Entertainment News Ladakh unrest: Sonam Wangchuk arrested, may be flown to Delhi

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has been arrested in Ladakh under the National Security Act (NSA) and is expected to be moved to Delhi. His arrest comes amid massive unrest in Ladakh over demands for statehood. Wangchuk faces charges of instigating riots, delivering a provocative speech during a hunger protest, and misleading a mob. This action follows the cancellation of the FCRA licence for his NGO by the Ministry of Home Affairs, which alleged misuse of foreign funding. The situation in Ladakh remains tense, with mobile internet services suspended and a strong security presence following protests that resulted in loss of life.
