Entertainment News Supreme Court cricket humour on Gautam Gambhir and Team India with Justice Sundaresh and Mukul Rohatgi goes viral on social media

With the ongoing India – South Africa series and the return of Ro-Ko (Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli), cricket fever seems to have gripped the nation once again.

And it appears even the Supreme Court is not immune to it. During a recent hearing, the future of Coach Gautam Gambhir in Team India unexpectedly became a topic of discussion, leading to a light-hearted moment in the top court.

A video from a recent Supreme Court hearing, featuring cricket analogies flying all around, has now gone viral.

The video features Justices MM Sundaresh, Satish Sharma, and advocate Mukul Rohatgi during a session where cricket, law, and personal anecdotes intersected, resulting in laughter and smiles throughout the room.

During the proceeding, Justice MM Sundaresh made a cricketing analogy, stating, “See now you see the performance of the Indian team. When you concentrate more on T20 and one day, you will lose Test match.”

The Supreme Court judge was taking a veiled dig at India’s poor performance in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa at home.

His comment was aimed at highlighting the shifting priorities in Indian cricket, subtly drawing parallels with the matter at hand.

In response, advocate Mukul Rohatgi said, “The head coach is a friend and a client of mine and I called him today morning and said that the whole country is now saying that even on your own pitches, if you are going to lose like this, you better stop.”

The video quickly spread on social media platform X, with users sharing the clip widely.

One user commented, “When a Supreme Court hearing turns into cricket analysis + family drama + Rohatgi’s elite storytelling. Justice Sundaresh & Justice Satish Sharma had the whole courtroom smiling. Only in India can law, sport and legacy blend this effortlessly.”

While the broader context of the hearing remains unclear, the exchange has left many amused and in splits.
